As Director, Social Media, you must demonstrate "social media DNA" and be well-connected with the broader social sphere. You must also have an extensive and varied social media portfolio including: insights research, outreach, community development & management, content creation, analytics, trend hunting, media and events planning.

You will be a thought-leader in all aspects of social media marketing and emerging media. You will work in partnership with creative directors, clients and senior-level brand/marketing executives to develop and activate social media programs. You must present well, write and speak with ease, and be able to strategically guide and mediate client brainstorm sessions and facilitate program development and approval.

Job Responsibilities:

Agency-level (20%)
Act as strategic leader for the agency's social media capability
Build and refine agencys social media and digital strategy framework from opportunity identification through to experience definition"includes development of presentation assets, communication plans, and establishing a preferred vendor network.
Develop emerging and social media disciplines, including mobile, tablets, gaming, multi-cultural marketing, ECRM, SEO and SEM
Strengthen vendor relationships and mentor social media staff with focus on analytics, optimization and effective tactical campaigns
Contribute to new business pitches and scope expansion opportunities for base clients

Account-level (80%)
Manage social media research, strategy development and execution of client campaigns, along with the resources required to execute these campaigns
Leverage consumer insights to provide solutions and ideas that bridge web, mobile, gaming, social media, email, search, advertising, etc., and maximize consumer engagement.
Optimize word of mouth marketing efforts to drive traffic, build franchise/show awareness, including site promotion, online marketing messages, integration with linear channels, on-site retention and e-mail management
Created consistent, user-centric, and engaging content that aligns with a client's brand and supports their overall strategy.
Create content seeding and distribution plans, work with vendors to achieve awareness, impressions and associated call to actions.

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
An established and well-respected online presence among industry peers and clients
Immersion in social media platforms, trends with an understanding of their design, functionality and users
Able to create conversations between consumers and brands (C to B), as well as between brands (B to B) and among consumers (C to C to C to C)
Proficiency in social listening tools like Radian6 and Buzzlogic.
Juggling ability (metaphorically speaking, though we always enjoy a good sideshow act) combined with high attention to detail and a keen sense of accountability
Strong project management or organizational skills
Enjoy networking with others (behind the computer AND in front of it)
Fantastic writing skills
Sense of humor
Comfort working in the adult beverage category, as well as with family-focused consumer goods

Experience/Educational Requirements:
6-8 years of professional digital experience, notably with social networks and platforms, insights research, brand marketing, e-mail marketing, viral campaigns, customer relationship management, online media and a dose of PR
BA/BS, preferably in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
