Houzz.com, the premier online platform for the home design industry, is looking for a smart and energetic community manager rock star to join our downtown Palo Alto, CA, office.

The community manager will become a hands-on leader for Houzz's community within our Q&A and messaging board, including managing a team of professionals and moderators and the associated budget.

This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to become an early member of a unique and winning team. The Houzz web site serves a fast-growing community of home owners and home improvement professionals. The Houzz app is a leading home design app on the iPad and iPhone. Both the web site and the app provide access to the largesthome designdatabase on the web- over 175,000 photos uploaded by more than 25,000 design professionals.

Responsibilities:
Manage remote staff of design professionals and moderators to ensure consistent processes for community outreach, development, moderation and policies.
Oversee department budget, moderator recruitment and hiring.
Collaborate closely with editorial to create community-focused editorial content, discover new opportunities for engagement, and increase flow between content and community.
Collaborate with social marketing team to build engagement and audience through social media outreach.
Collaborate with PR and marketing team to increase user acquisition, retention and increase brand awareness.
Oversee first-response community support efforts.

Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of and passion for online communities & social media including best practices and the latest tools.
3+ years of onlinecommunity management experience.
Proven record of successfully building and growing a forum/ Q&A communityfrom an early stage.
Strong sense of personal ownership/stewardship for the community
Multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Leadership and project management experience.
Editorial instincts on turning community conversations and contributions into clicky, viral content with a knack for identifying and pieceing together trends.
Proven track record of planning and achieving measurable goals.
Ability to work well under pressure and proven ability to meet deadlines.
High energy personality and a strong desire to achieve top results with a charismatic, positive attitude.
Strong communication & writing skills.
Experience with lifestyle/interest consumer communities, in particular home improvement and home furnishing communities is a plus.
